It is well known that we often equate our self worth through comparison to others. In a society
where success is measured by material possession and status, the value of developing a meaningful philosophy of life has become less important than attaining financial and social wealth.
Since wealth is relative based on the standards of our own immediate contexts and the psychological cost of life in the fast lane surrounded by the highly successful is often a disassociation with others due to envy and competition, I have chosen to create a body of work that allows us as the artmaking and art buying public who will view this work to literally see ourselves within these glass pieces that are meant to represent everyman. For me, these pieces came into being though my desire to look at who I am right now and in doing that, to reflect on who I am striving to become.
