One thing in life that is constant and inevitable is change. Whether it is by personal choice or life’s dictating, absolutely nothing will remain the same forever. At times, adjusting can be hard and undesired, but I have learned that in order to truly enjoy life and all it has to offer, I must be open to embracing the changes that are presented to me. Ironically at times I find I have to be the one to initiate change. In many cases, the outcome of adapting to these new beginnings was better than I could have ever imagined. This was usually recognized in hindsight.
With this in mind, my current exhibition is an oportunity to turn a page into a slightly new direction in my work. This exhibition will incorporate new characters, narratives and imagery that I have not used in my paintings before. I want these stories to reflect the many times I have personally confronted life’s transitions and the positive impacts they have had on my life experiences
as well as my art.
I hope those who view this exhibition will take from it, a feeling of hope and anticipation for what the future has in store for them. If by chance the viewer is currently experiencing trials and tribulations, I hope this new body of work will remind them that this too will pass and a new day will soon begin.
